About Selma House Events

We are the authorised independent booking and marketing partner for Selma House in Smethwick, helping people across Birmingham find the right room for their occasion.

Who we are

Selma House Events is an independent business that markets and books private events at Selma House, 2 Wellington Street, Smethwick, B66 2QF. The venue's owner permits us to use the Selma House name and branding.

We run a separate booking service from the restaurant at Selma House. If you're looking to book a table at the restaurant, please contact the restaurant directly.

What we offer

We arrange private hire of the Gold Hall and Silver Hall, including dry hire with no compulsory catering. We help you plan timings, layouts and optional extras, and we prepare a personalised quote for every enquiry.

How we work

We keep the process clear and honest:

  • Every enquiry receives a personalised quote — we don't publish price lists
  • We check the venue's master diary before holding any date, to avoid double bookings
  • We never promise a date until it has been confirmed
  • Charities and CICs can apply for special rates, reviewed individually

At the venue

  • Dry hire available — no compulsory catering through us
  • Bar available at the venue
  • Covered smoking terrace with around 40 seats
  • Limited on-site parking, reserved in advance
  • Private events held on any day by arrangement

Gold Hall

The larger of the two halls, made for big celebrations with a wide dance floor and room for a live band or DJ.
